Check the Record...

In I-told-you-so news, Tarvaris Jackson has been benched in favor of an old, reliable backup named Gus.

Now, I know I didn't tell you ALL that, but I did predict Tarvaris Jackson was going to be a reliability issue in Minnesota. Would I have predicted Gus Frerotte would be the guy to replace him? That's like replacing a rotten orange with a three week old banana. Neither one is gonna do you any good, and they both stink.

HOWEVER, if Frerotte can manage to be a better manager of the game than he'll have an early edge on Jackson, who Jim Rome predicts we've seen the last of this year. If Frerotte can hand the better off better and get away with a few short passes down the middle than I'll agree with him. If can complete a pass to Bernard Berrian (Jackson didn't), he'll be a hero in Minnesota. Let's hope it lasts, because I'll relish using that picture his entire career.

This immediately puts Minnesota in the QB market once this years draft rolls around. Unless of course John David Booty turns out to be the answer. Naaaaah...
